Is it true that the Honda ADV 160 will follow the Vario 160?

The news that PT Astra Honda Motor (AHM) will launch the Vario 160 on Wednesday (2/2/2022) tomorrow makes a scene in the automotive world in the country. Because the presence of this one scooter has been long awaited.

Many predict that AHM will completely overhaul the appearance and innards of the Honda Vario 160. Some say that the Vario 160 will be the toughest rival of the Yamaha Aerox 155 and therefore the design is made as sturdy as possible.

However, until the Vario 160 was officially launched, all were still in the status of predictions, aka uncertain, as uncertain as rumors that said the appearance of the Honda Vario 160 would be followed by the ADV 160.

1. Honda ADV 160 following Vario 160?

It is quite reasonable if someone says that the presence of the Honda Vario 160 will be followed by the Honda ADV 160. Because these two motorbikes use the same engine base, namely the PCX 160 engine.

Honda does have a tradition of using one engine for several of their products. And usually the highest variant will appear first. Like when they launched the PCX 150 which was then followed by the Honda Vario 150. Both of these motorbikes use the same engine. After that came the Honda ADV 150.

Currently, AHM has launched the PCX 160. So their next product is the Vario 160. After that, it's the turn of the Honda ADV 160. It's just that no one knows exactly when the ADV 160 will be launched.

2. Honda ADV 150 is still old

The Honda ADV 150 was officially launched in Indonesia in 2019. So he is still 3 years old, still corn. Because of that, don't expect this one motorbike to get the latest version with a 160 engine in the near future.

Because AHM will probably still focus on working on the Honda Vario 160 market, which will reportedly be launched on Wednesday (2/2/2022) tomorrow. So, Honda ADV lovers seem to still have to wait a little longer to get a 160 cc engine.

3. Another option for touring lovers

If you've been craving a touring motorbike but feel that the presence of the Honda ADV 160 is too long and the Honda ADV 150 is outdated (because it's still using an old engine), you can consider the Honda CB150X.

This bar motorbike was launched in November 2021 so it is still fresh. The design is very touring with tempting features, such as the upside down front suspension which will add to the comfort as well as the handsomeness of this bike.

Currently, the Honda CB150X is priced at Rp. 32.95 million on the road in Jakarta. So, while waiting for the ADV 160 to arrive, how about you try this one clutch motor first?

Practical Tips for Caring for Motorcycle Tires, Can Be Done at Home

Motorcycle tires do not just move, but have an important role. This component has various functions, such as supporting the load of the vehicle, supporting stability when driving, and helping grip the asphalt when braking.

“Tires are an important component of motorcycles, maintenance is quite simple and easy to do independently, but is often overlooked by riders. Whereas routine maintenance of motorcycle tires can maintain the comfort and performance of the motorcycle itself. So, we will share some practical tire care tips for motorcycle riders in Indonesia," said Antonius Widiantoro, Public Relations Manager of PT Yamaha Indonesia Motor Manufacturing.

Practical Tips for Caring for Motorcycle Tires, Can Be Done at Home

Judging from the task which is quite vital, the driver must pay more attention to this one component. By treating it properly, at least it can reduce the risk that can be caused. Realizing the importance of understanding in caring for tires, Yamaha shares some practical tips.

1. Checking the Outer Appearance of the Tires

If there are cracks, tears, damage due to foreign objects, or bumps, immediately change the tires to an authorized or trusted repair shop. For Yamaha motorcycle owners, you can visit the nearest authorized dealer or contact the SKY (Yamaha Visiting Service) facility through the My Yamaha App. Official Yamaha workshops have used tire changers to maintain tire durability and keep the color and condition of the wheels smooth.

2. Checking Tire Life

In general, the age of the tires can reach 5 years, but the driver still has to pay attention to the condition of the tires, especially if the rider is active and regularly uses a motorbike, and often passes on uneven roads. In addition to ensuring that the outer appearance of the tire is free from cracks, the rider can see the age of the tire from the production code found on the side of the motorcycle tire. Consists of a 4-digit code, listed the year and week of manufacture. For example, the Yamaha Gear has the code 0422, meaning that the tire was made in week 4 or January 2022.

3. Checking Tire Groove Thickness

The tire has an indicator to show tire tread wear (TWI = Tread Wear Indicator) with a 'triangle' marker on the sidewall of the tire. If any of the wear indicators are visible on the surface, then the tire grooves can barely serve as drainage in rainy weather. In this case, be sure to replace the tires.

4. Make sure the tire pressure is up to standard

Checking tire pressure can be done in cold conditions by using a tire pressure gauge. Make sure the tire pressure matches the size and type of motorcycle listed in the owner's manual. An example is the Yamaha Gear 125 scooter, with a standard pressure size of 29 Psi front tires and 33 Psi rear tires. The ideal tire air pressure can maintain stability and comfort, especially at high speeds and turns, and reduce tire life.

5. Using Standard Tires

Always use tires that are in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations to avoid a decrease in motorcycle performance that can pose a risk of riding.

6. Make sure to carry the load according to the capacity of the tire.

Check the load capacity of motorcycle tires before riding. This can prevent overloading which poses a risk of danger when driving. Riders can see the load capacity of the motorcycle tires through the 3-digit number after the tire size data. For example on Yamaha Gear 80/80-14M/C 43P, where the last 3 digits 43P means:

43 = Maximum load 155kg

P = Maximum speed limit 150 km/h

To minimize the risk of motorcyclists while driving, Yamaha products have used tubeless tires. In addition to practical maintenance, the use of tubeless tires can support the quality of motorcycles and increase comfort while riding, especially for female riders.

Don't be careless, these are tips for caring for a premium helmet!

Helmet, the most important riding equipment. Its job is to protect the driver's head in the event of an accident. Or at least minimize the risk of serious injury during a collision. So, choose a quality helmet, don't just choose.

Along with the development of the automotive world, helmets can also be one of the fashion accessories when driving. Especially for premium helmets such as Arai, Shoei, AGV, X-Lite, HJC, Suomy and many others. Head protection which is relatively expensive, of course, must be balanced with good care as well.

Don't be careless, these are tips for caring for a premium helmet!

Unfortunately, there are still many riders who seem to forget or even don't know how to properly care for a helmet. In fact, caring for your own helmet is very easy. So what should be paid attention to?

1. Clean the outside after use

This first point is very important. Clean the outside of the helmet after use so that dust does not stick too long. The tools and materials needed are also simple. What's more, everything can be done yourself at home. "There are no special tools, just prepare helmet cleaner fluid, cotton buds, and microfiber cloths," explained Herry Cahyadi, owner of THC Helmet.

Spray helmet cleaner liquid to the helmet area you want to clean. Then wash with a microfiber cloth. Then use a cotton swab to clean hard-to-reach parts of the helmet, such as ventilation holes. The goal is that the air circulation in the helmet is not blocked by dirt.

2. Clean the visor

The visor is an important component in the helmet that is susceptible to dirt, especially during the rainy season. This is not separated from the splash of the vehicle in front, causing dirt on the visor. "For the visor, it should be removed first, then cleaned with running water slowly so that the dirt that sticks out is released. Then give a special liquid visor cleaning made of organic materials. After that, use a cloth with a microfiber material so it doesn't scratch. It's good to wash in one direction," concluded Herry.

3. Keep away from direct sunlight

After use, it's best not to dry in direct sunlight. "There are still a lot of wrong riders here. Helmets after being used for a long time should not be directly dried in the sun, just open the visor and let it dry or put it near a fan," said the friendly man with glasses.

How to put it also should not be arbitrary. It's good to position it upside down by adding a special support device or helmet under it. This is to prevent scratches on the outer surface of the helmet. In addition, so that the heat in the helmet comes out.

4. Wash the helmet foam regularly

After the exterior, the next thing that must be considered is the cleanliness of the inside of the helmet. Wash the foam in the helmet regularly. It is recommended once a month or less. It all depends on the intensity of use.

How to wash it is also fairly easy. First, remove all the foam. Then soak the components in a container of warm water. The use of warm water aims to prevent the growth of bad bacteria, which can cause unpleasant odors and itching in the head.

“The more often it is used, the minimum washing is done at least once a week. Washing the interior is the most basic way of caring for a helmet. Keep in mind, the interior should not be washed using a cleaning detergent. However, currently there are many special soap products to wash the foam part of the helmet," said the man who is often called Koh Herry.

To dry it is the same as in point 3. "The most appropriate way to dry the inside of the helmet is, it must be aerated, open the visor and place the helmet directly under the fan," he added.

5. Spray helmet deodorizer

In order to be comfortable to use, it is good for riders who use premium helmets to regularly provide fragrance. “The interior is in direct contact with the hair and sweat of the head. Always try to give perfume so that when used there is no odor that can interfere with travel. And keep in mind, do not carelessly use helmet fragrance products. Try to find products that use anti-bacterial ingredients," he said.

6. Use a holster or helmet bag

The use of a helmet holster is also necessary so that your favorite helmet is physically maintained. Its function is to avoid scratches and dust. This method can be done anytime and anywhere. “But look for gloves or helmet bags with quality materials. Like Polar Fleece or materials commonly used for sweaters, they are soft so they are safe for helmets," said Herry.

This is the Danger of Filling the Wrong Type of Fuel! How to handle it?

Refueling a vehicle can be a serious problem, especially if you refuel the wrong way. This condition often occurs in users who have just used a car with a different engine type such as gasoline or diesel. It can also happen when vehicle users do not pay close attention to the specifications of the vehicle they are using.

So what is the impact if you fill the wrong type of fuel in a certain engine? If the gasoline engine is filled with the type of fuel for a diesel engine, aka diesel, the engine will be difficult to start. This is because diesel requires high compression to trigger an explosion in the combustion chamber. The pressure of the gas pump is also lower than that of a diesel engine and the temperature of the spark plug that does not match the flash point of diesel is not enough to trigger an explosion.

This is the Danger of Filling the Wrong Type of Fuel! How to handle it?

The effect is that a gasoline engine that is exposed to diesel will be difficult to start. At first it might be possible, that's because there is still gasoline left in the fuel tank. When diesel starts to enter the engine, the engine flame will stagnate and feel a problem coming to the engine. In other cases, the machine immediately shuts down and cannot be restarted.

If the vehicle can still move, immediately pull over and turn off the engine. Do not force the vehicle to continue running because it can risk damaging engine components that die suddenly. The worst condition, the engine can break if driving at high speed.

How about a diesel engine filled with gasoline? Diesel engines require fuel that can burn itself because it relies on a high compression engine. Unlike the gasoline engine that requires spark plugs to burn it. As a result, diesel engines are difficult to start because of different fuel characteristics and engine requirements.

Do not force the wrong engine to use fuel. When forced, the diesel engine can indeed start because the engine compression and high temperature in the combustion chamber can burn gasoline. However, because the combustion cannot be adjusted according to the engine's needs, it loses power, knocks, and damages engine components.

In addition, diesel engines require fuel that functions as a lubricant for components such as the fuel pump. Gasoline that does not have a lubricating element can cause spare parts that require lubrication to be damaged when working in high temperatures and pressures.

How to Overcome Wrong Filling of Fuel

If you realize that you have filled the wrong gas, immediately move the car from the filling location by pushing it. Do not start the engine because it has a great risk of damage. Immediately call emergency services for assistance. For Toyota vehicles, contact the Emergency Road Assistance call center to send a tow or tow vehicle and then take it to the nearest Auto2000 repair shop.

If the engine is already running, immediately turn it off and pull over to a safe place. If you are already running, you will definitely feel the difference in engine performance from usual, especially if you have already filled in large quantities. The engine stutters, loses power and the engine temperature rises above the normal indicator.

Allowing the car to run at high speed will result in engine damage. Make sure the engine speed is as low as possible and find a safe location to stop and turn off the engine. If the vehicle has been handled by the workshop staff, it will certainly be immediately handled by draining the fuel tank or other repairs depending on the condition of the engine.

Leaked Honda ADV 160 Launches This Year

The Honda ADV 160 may also get the Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) feature. This feature is useful for preventing the rear tire from slipping, of course it is very suitable for adventure-character motorbikes such as the Honda ADV 160. Moreover, this feature has also been embedded in the Honda PCX 160.

Meanwhile, Honda has also registered a design patent for a motorcycle that is suspected to be the Honda ADV 250. The new Honda motorcycle patent is registered in the Official Gazette of Industrial Design No. 8/DI/2022 released by the Directorate General of Intellectual Property of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. The motor scooter was registered by Honda Motor Co., LTD. with four Japanese designers.

However, if you enter Indonesia, it is likely that the Honda ADV will carry a 250 cc engine. You see, Honda Forza which is present in Indonesia also uses a 250 cc engine. Moreover, Government Regulation No. 73 of 2019 states that motorcycles with engines of more than 250 cc to 500 cc are subject to a sales tax on luxury goods (PPnBM) of 60%. If Honda brings ADV 350 with a 330 cc engine, it means that the price will be higher with the imposition of PPnBM.

A total of 143 Toyota BZ4X Electric Cars Become Official Vehicles for the G20 Summit in Bali

"That's right, (Toyota BZ4X) we will support the G20 Summit event," said Anton when confirmed about the presence of the Toyota BZ4X at the G20 Bali Summit.

Anton continued, until now it is planned that there will be around 143 Toyota BZ4X units that will be prepared by TAM as operational vehicles at the G20 Summit. "Toyota BZ4X there are 143 units," he added.

The presence of the Toyota BZ4X electric car in Indonesia at an important event like the G20 Summit is quite interesting. The reason is, until now TAM has not officially sold the zero pollution SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle), it could be that the momentum in the G20 is a start before it is actually released with an official tag to the public.

When asked about when this car will be officially sold for the Indonesian market, Anton did not want to talk much. But if you remember, on March 12, precisely at the JAW 2022 exhibition, Anton had already talked about his opportunity to enter and be sold in the country.

Yes, of course Indonesia is also studying (Toyota BZ4X), we will inform you later when it is clearer," he concluded at the time.

For information, the Toyota BZ4X is projected to launch first in the Land of the White Elephant, Thailand in the second half of 2022. This car without exhaust emissions has a 5-passenger seating configuration with a futuristic visual design.

Furthermore, this car is also said to use a special platform for Toyota's first electric car with e-TNGA. This construction is claimed to be able to achieve a capable driving performance with a low center of gravity and good strength.

Citing Toyota Global, the BZ4X electric car is presented in 2 wheel drive options, namely Front Wheel Drive (FWD) and All Wheel Drive (AWD). For wheel drive FWD combined with a single electric motor capable of spewing power of 201 horsepower and peak torque of 265 Nm.

As for the AWD, two electric motors are injected at once which can shoot up to a maximum power of 215 horsepower and a peak torque of 336 Nm. Both variants are equipped with a battery with a specification of 71.4 kWh.

A little about the performance, Toyota claims from a standstill to 100 kph specifically for the FWD variant can be completed in 8.4 seconds. While the Toyota BZ4X AWD is faster, the record can be completed in just 7.7 seconds.

Turbo Engine Cortez is considered to be a waste of gasoline, this is what Wuling says!

Wuling Motors has just released the Cortez update. Glides with changes or enhancements to features that support comfort and practicality. There is no change in the mechanical sector, including the engine. While some consumers have complained about the fuel consumption of Cortez which tends to be extravagant.

Turbo Engine Cortez is considered to be a waste of gasoline, this is what Wuling says!

When explaining about the new Cortez update, Danang Wiratmoko as Product Planning Wuling Motors spoke about the extravagance of Cortez. According to him, there are many factors that make driving extravagant and not many consumers have complaints there. The results were obtained from an internal survey of a number of Wuling car consumers, including Cortez.

"Some time ago we did market research on users of Cortez and other Wuling products. From their daily car usage, how much is spent on fuel. The interesting thing is, the survey results have a wide range. There are groups of users who say they are economical. Meanwhile some other groups, they feel that fuel consumption is less efficient. We can conclude that driving habits greatly affect fuel efficiency. On the other hand, road conditions and surrounding traffic also play a role," said Danang in an online presentation of new Cortez to the media.

Wuling Cortez
Wuling Cortez

Looking at the mechanical heart of the new Cortez, it still uses the same package that was first installed on the Cortez CT. Compared to the initial generation with naturally aspirated engines, this Cortez CT carries the most powerful engine. Its contribution comes from turbocharger support. Naturally, it can also contribute to efficiency.

Look at the early generation Cortez with a 1.8 liter engine that has 129 hp and 174 Nm of torque. Compare this with a 1.5 liter turbo 4-cylinder engine with 140 hp and a maximum torque of 250 Nm. Not to mention about the power supply. The old Cortez used iAMT against CVT (Continuous Variable Transmission) on a turbo engined Cortez.

Indeed, the issue of fuel efficiency is very much a factor, not only from the engine used. There are various factors such as the type of fuel, how to drive, road contours, traffic conditions to the use of tires, including pressure, which will give different consumption results. While the use of a 1.5-liter turbo engine on the Cortez is considered sufficient by the manufacturer, both in terms of power and efficiency.

Updates on New Cortez

The refresher focus on the latest Cortez, according to Wuling, provides more comfort. With the jargon of Innovating Comfort Zone, Wuling wants to increase the value of Cortez's MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle) for the better. Referred to as "smart MPV" thanks to the support of modern features of Indonesian voice commands and internet network support. The two features that are in the spotlight, first come through Wuling Almaz.

Wuling Indonesian Command (WIND) is an Indonesian voice command feature. Can be done to access many commands and functions. Starting from making phone calls, accessing music, navigation, knowing the date, opening and closing windows and sunroofs to adjusting the air conditioner. The user experience is constantly being improved, so that with simple communication functions can be executed.

"Some commands use simple everyday sentences. For example, 'Turn on the radio' and also 'I'm too hot' to automatically lower the temperature of the AC," said Handi Ahmad, Product Planning Wuling Motors.
