2021 is a year full of stories for the automotive industry. After being dragged down at the beginning of the year due to a pandemic storm, the automotive market is again squirming thanks to several government policies and also a variety of new products from manufacturers that make the public want to own a vehicle.
One of them is reported by PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) which recorded positive achievements in 2021. HPM recorded retail sales of 91,393 units of cars throughout Indonesia. This achievement increased 15 percent compared to sales in 2020 which was recorded at 79,451 units. Some of the things that helped Honda in this achievement are honda brio sales performance, the launch of several new models and not to forget the PPnBM DTP incentives that proved effective in driving more positive market growth.

Although feeling positive achievements in terms of sales in accordance with economic conditions in Indonesia, Honda sales, especially in the second half of 2021, had a great impact on component supply disruptions for production that occurred globally. Conditions that disrupt the supply level of Honda products finally improved at the end of 2021. This allows Honda to focus on maximizing production capacity and meeting still high consumer demand.
As a result, sales in December 2021 recorded an increase of 41 percent when compared to the previous month with a total of 9,908 units.
Yusak Billy, Business Innovation and Sales &Marketing Director of PT HPM revealed that Honda's sales in 2021 were in line with projections, taking into account various conditions such as the launch of new models, the impact of tax incentives, and supply constraints due to component supply disruptions for production.
"We are grateful that consumer demand for Honda products was still very high until the end of last year, especially for the Honda Brio and new models such as the All New Honda BR-V and City Hatchback RS. Especially for Honda Brio whose orders are very high, we will maximize production at the 2 factories that we have to meet consumer demand as soon as possible," billy said in his statement on Saturday (15/1/2022).

This achievement consists of Brio Satya model of 30,254 units and Brio RS as many as 15,078 units. This makes Honda Brio contribute 50 percent of honda's total sales throughout 2021.
Note from other models, Honda HR-V 1.5L also contributed 18 percent of total sales with 16,525 units. Honda CR-V contributed 10 percent to Honda sales or sold 9,378 units, other models, the new Honda City Hatchback RS in 2021 sold 8,384 units with a contribution of 9 percent.
