The beginning of the year became a place of achievement in terms of sales by some brand holders.
Although the conditions of the beginning of the year changed with the presence of a new PPnBM scheme, this did not decrease the sales demand of each brand.
One of them is PT Mitsubishi Motors Krama Yudha Sales Indonesia (MMKSI) which announced their positive achievements in retail sales during January 2022. At the beginning of the year, MMKSI managed to record a total of 10,676 units and this achievement increased by 14.8 percent for its market share.

Tetsuhiro Tsuchida, Director of Sales &Marketing Division of PT MMKSI revealed that sales in early 2022 are the foundation and motivation for sales performance in the months ahead. Mitsubishi as a leading automotive brand, does not want to miss out on continuing to contribute to economic growth in Indonesia, especially in the automotive field.
"We will never tire of bringing innovation and excellence to our customers. The beginning of this positive year is a good momentum for us in presenting interesting programs that are certainly one form of our appreciation for Indonesian consumers," said Tetsuhiro in his statement, Wednesday (2/16/2022).
During January 2022, Mitsubishi passenger vehicles contributed sales figures of 7,549 units while for the light commercial vehicle segment, Mitsubishi managed to record sales of 3,127 units. Xpander models, including the Xpander Cross, are again the backbone of Mitsubishi's sales. The MPV dominated MMKSI sales by 55.5 percent and the L300 contributed nearly 21 percent and Pajero Sport at 15.2 percent to MMKSI's total sales.
In total overall market in Indonesia, Xpander models including Xpander Cross, managed to get 33.4 percent market share of small MPV vehicles. This means that a total of 5,925 units have been sold for the MPV model.
Pajero Sport model which is in the medium suv segment of 2,500 cc with 4x2 and 4x4 models, managed to get a market share of 36.3 percent. This means a total sales of 1,622 units.
The commercial vehicle segment is the L300. This legendary model maintains its position in the 4x2 small pick-up segment with a market share of 66.3 percent or 2,235 units sold. Similarly, Mitsubishi Triton models still maintain their position in the 4x4 pick-up segment with a market share of 75.5 percent or sold as many as 878 units.
This achievement in early 2022 continues the positive results last year. Throughout 2021, MMKSI managed to achieve sales with a total of 104,407 units and increase market share to 13.2 percent. This achievement increased 90.6 percent compared to the same period in 2020 which reached sales of almost 50,000 units.
This success is also due to the presence of product updates by Mitsubishi. Last year Mitsubishi presented the New Pajero Sport, Xpander Rockford Fosgate Black Edition, Xpander Cross Rockford Fosgate Black Edition, as well as New Xpander and New Xpander Cross. This year it is expected that there will be an update on its vehicle models to further meet consumer expectations throughout the country.
