Toyota Corolla Altis Sedan Gets Refreshment, Becomes More Sophisticated

 After presenting an update to the SUV segment, PT Toyota Astra Motor (TAM) gave a surprise in early February 2022 by presenting the latest model from the sedan segment. 

The model that gets a refresh is the New Corolla Altis which comes with a petrol engine variant and hybrid technology as well as a refresh on some of the features in it.

Susumu Matsuda, President Director of PT TAM said that his party presented the New Corolla Altis as a tangible manifestation of Toyota's commitment to presenting Ever Better Car products based on the spirit of Let's Go Beyond. The presence of the latest Altis is an appreciation to consumers in the sedan segment, especially now that it comes with two engine options, namely gasoline and hybrid technology.

"In addition, we are also equipped with various new, more advanced features to support driving safety and comfort. And supported by mobility services that are in accordance with customer needs to increasingly provide a pleasant and personal mobility experience,"

Some of the new features given to the Corolla Altis include T Intouch. This is a telematics feature that can connect cars with the mToyota application so that vehicle owners can connect to all Toyota mobility services. The Intouch T in the New Corolla Altis offers customers daily life digital connectivity experiences and integrated solutions and benefits.

First, there is the Find My Car feature which can accurately determine the position of the parked vehicle, so as to provide a sense of security and comfort for customers. Then, there is a Geofencing feature that can provide a warning when the vehicle is outside the official zone to ensure customer safety at all times.

Still from the T Intouch feature, there is an E-Care (Maintenance) feature that will help provide warnings for vehicle maintenance on a regular basis so that the customer's vehicle is always in its best performance. There is also an Inquiry & Support Center feature that offers direct assistance from the Toyota Call Center to help resolve customer vehicle problems. It is also equipped with a Road Assistance feature that provides an SOS button when a customer has an accident, and can directly connect our customers with the Toyota call center to be directed to the Emergency Road Assistance (ERA) provider for faster assistance.

This sedan product which has the tagline "Prestige Elevated" now looks modern with several entertainment features equipped with smartphone connectivity on the head unit. In the Hybrid variant, it is now equipped with a wireless charger in the center console.

Specifically, the Corolla Altis Hybrid now gets additional features of Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) gen 2. The previous model was equipped with four safety features, namely a pre-collision system, lane departure alert, automatic high beam and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control features. Now the safety features of Toyota Safety Sense 2 on the New Corolla Altis have become more sophisticated. The system on the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC) feature is designed to function at full speed of 0 km/h – 180 km/h. Its radar sensor can detect vehicles up to 120 m in front and is able to maintain a distance with the vehicle in front automatically.

The TSS 2 feature on the New Corolla also gets the latest feature, namely Lane Tracing Assist (LTA) which can help the driver keep the car on a clearly marked lane, and first avoid entering unwanted lanes. The system also helps reduce driver fatigue and supports safe driving, especially when in traffic jams, or long trips on the highway.

Regarding after-sales service, customers don't need to worry about the cost of periodic maintenance when buying it because they will automatically benefit from the Free Periodic Service Fee (Service Fee and Spare Parts) program for up to the 6th service (maximum 4 years / 50,000 KM, whichever is more). before). The benefits of this program can be enjoyed at all authorized Toyota dealers in Indonesia.

Based on the latest price list on Toyota's website, the New Corolla Altis is offered in three variants. The first variant is the G AT with a price tag of Rp. 438.3 million, the second variant is the VA/T at a price of Rp. 457.6 million and the A/T hybrid variant is offered at a price of Rp. 506.3 million.

There is no change in appearance both on the exterior and interior. Regarding the engine, the petrol variant uses a 2ZR-FE 4-cylinder DOHC Dual VVT-i 1,789 cc engine with 140 ps of power at 6,400 rpm and 17 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. As for the hybrid, it uses a 1,798 cc 2ZR-FXE engine with a hybrid system that produces 98 ps of power at 5,200 rpm and 141 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm.
