Specifications of the Ducati Desmosedici GP21 Racing Motorcycle

 Enea Bastianini won the 2022 French MotoGP series on Sunday (15/4). The racer from the Gresini Racing team was successful on the podium with Jack Miller and Aleix Espargaro.

Bastianini's performance in the 2022 season was quite brilliant, in the opening series at the Qatar GP and then he came out victorious after smoking Brand Binder and Pol Espargaro.

Specifications of the Ducati Desmosedici GP21 Racing Motorcycle

Until now, the 24-year-old Italian-born rider is entrenched in 3rd position with 94 points. While the first position is Fabio Quartararo with a collection of 102 points and 2nd position Aleix Espargaro with temporary points at 98.

Returning to yesterday's French GP race series, Bastianini showed a positive performance despite having to compete quickly with Ducati's first team racers, Francesco Bagnaia and Jack Miller. To note, Bastianini uses a motorbike with different specifications from the two Lenovo Ducati riders.

Bastianini was supported on a Ducati Desmosedici GP21, while Miller and Bagnaia rode a Ducati Desmosedici GP22 which in theory would have been superior due to getting more upgrades this season.

Specifications of Ducati Desmosedici GP21

In terms of specifications on paper, the Ducati Desmosedici GP21 carries a liquid-cooled 90-degree Desmodromic V4 engine with a DOHC configuration of 4 valves per cylinder. The engine has a cylinder capacity of up to 1,000 cc. 

The pacemaker is equipped with an Indirect Electronic Injection atomizer system with 4 throttle bodies at once. The components are operated with a state-of-the-art dual Ride by Wire system.

The Desmosedici GP21 engine is mated to a Ducati Seamless Transmission Chain Final Drive transmission which is capable of producing a maximum power of up to 250 horsepower and more with a top speed of more than 350 km per hour.

To reduce the ferocity of the engine output, the braking system that is carried is also advanced. Where on the front use Brembo dual discs measuring 340 mm made of carbon, each of which has 4 piston calipers. While at the rear use a single braking made of stainless steel with 2 pistons.

As for the legs, in the front bow, Ohlins uses an upside down suspension. While at the rear also uses Ohlins-vendor suspension. Then for the chassis using a twin-spar model with aluminum alloy material. Both wheels of course pack a size of 17 inches wrapped in Michelin tires.

With all the components used in Enea Bastianini's racing motorbike, the total weight of the vehicle is only 157 kilograms. Deliberately comparing, the Desmosedici GP21 turns out to be much lighter than the Honda CBR250RR which has a dry weight (without oil and gasoline) at 168 kilograms.
